In this area, it would almost assuredly be the Post Office. We have too many Starbucks to ever have a line like that.

Speeding up your visit to the DMV

Everyone,

A friend at church told me to be sure to take a cane with me when going to renew my drivers license. I was told that a particular DMV office here in Georgia watches for those of us who need the assistance of a cane or similar appliance.

I was told someone will call you out of the line and invite you over to a window and assist you with your renewal.

That sure sounds very accommodating of the DMV.

Hat's off to them!

8 service windows, 2 people working, 20 people waiting. Where am I?

If there are 2 people working... and 10 people behind them sipping coffee and looking unconcerned about anything.... and 20 people waiting.....you are either at the DMV or the Post Office.

DMV was the location. Generally that one is not like that, they must have heard how the others are!

I was going to guess 'In my computer'.

I guess that I am lucky. The downtown DMV office is located about two blocks from my office. Both times when I have been in there, there have been two open windows with two people working and no one else waiting.

On my first visit, they pretty much fell all over themselves to wait on me. I went back five years later and they had recently implemented self-serve kiosks where you basically sit down at a terminal and it walks you through how to do whatever you need done. When I came in, no other customers were there, but they still routed me to the kiosk. One of the bored employees came around and walked me through the super simple process.
