Grizzly H8259 Conversion?

I have a Grizzly model H8259. I was wondering if there is any way to convert it to a dial or digital variable speed control. To change the speeds, I have to open it up and adjust the belt. It's a pain. Any help is appreciated..
 
That looks a lot like a stretched 1014 so I would suspect that you could use one of the VS kits from PSI

What I don't know is if the motor shaft is the same as yours or if the bolt pattern on the motor matches your current bracket.

If it fits, you will have a VS lathe where each pully position will give you a range of speeds. You should be able to find a single pully that is good for a particular type of project like a pen.
