While preping some grapevine for turning I shaved the bark off and decided to try something with it so I stuck it on a Zen,It looks better than the pictures but more then that it was just fun to play around with something different( for me anyway)
Thanks for looking

Okay, I will ask for everyone.
Can you give more detail as to the green areas and the white specks?
Natural or did you create that effect? Finish?
Otherwise, nice job on the pen!

Building the pen was pretty straight forward stuff....
paint the pen tube,I used florescent green on this one ( I have a florescent orange one also) then I put a couple of clear coats over the green, after that I added coat of black.
I put the tube on the lathe at a slow speed and ran some 80 grit over it. The clear kept the paper from cutting thru the green but left a swirled effect.
The grapevine can be peeled into paper thin pieces and glued to the tube.
I added some glitter (that's the white appearing spots) to the PR and massaged in the usual manner.
Very easy and quick to build and as I said before the pictures don't do the look justice.
