Gotta watch those sharp gouges

I just sharpened my gouge and was turning a Euro pen. THe tool was cutting so nice, with really long shavings. I was so into watching the wood come of in nice long curles that I almost went beyond the bushings. I have never had something cut so nice. Now I only hope that when the tool gets dull again I can repeat the same sharpening.

That's a wonderful experience. I've had that happen also. Unfortunately, not often enough! []

I quit playing golf because every once in a while I would hit the ball just right and it would sail straight and true. Then I would do the exact same thing again and slice so bad the guys behind me ran. I am glad sharpening is easier.

So that's how you know you went to far. Sorry just learning here glad you did mention that. Now I at least know what to watch for.
