I turned a corian pen. Polished it all up, got it looking good. Then i put the nip on it.Put the tranny until the little detent (just above the brass ring). When I put the refill in it first it wouldn't screw in. Tried disassembling. Replaced the tranny with another one. Same problem. I worked outside the tube with just the refill in it.....Seemed like the refill was to long with the nib attached? I used the parts all from the same kit. What am I missing here? If I try putting the tranny in not as far, seems like there won't much for it to grip on.
PS I squared the blanks to the tubes so I know there is no extra room..

With the stock tube length (little over two inches if I recall) and the nib in place, you shouldn't have a problem with putting the tranny in to the depth you described, maybe a little short if anything.

Need pics to see what is happening.

Just a shot in the dark here as I am not sure I completely understand exactly what the issue is, but....Try a different tip on the pen. Sound a little like the cartridge may not be coming thru the tip properly. The hole could be blocked somehow.

I had this happen on a cigar. Took me a while to figure out what was wrong, but the opening on the tip had some flash in it that kept the point of the cartridge from coming thru the opening.
