I'm a new member to the forum who so far I have been met with warm greetings and a helpful hand. I'm looking forward to learning from you all and working to improve my turning.

I've only been turning wood for about 2 weeks now. I've made 8-10 pens and have learned a lot already in those first handful. I can only imagine what I will learn in the future.

Here are a couple of my first ones. They're certainly not perfect but they were good enough that the 'pen turning bug' bit me pretty good. :biggrin:

I like the contour of that first pen. Great beginnings. Welcome to IAP.
You might consider entering into the Turning Challenged contest with a pen. (you cant use these two)
Great prizes and it meant for beginners and members that havent turned a lot or have difficulty turning.

There is no place like this place near this place... this MUST be THE place!

The key here is to participate! Ask questions when you have'm, answer questions when you can, and make friends!
