I know this is entirely subjective and somewhat related to your market, but...

I just picked up some Liberty kits on sale and, having never made one before, I'm wondering what materials you're had success putting on this kit.

In your experience, is there a material that turns them into a quick seller?

The Liberty is my favorite ballpoint component set and all that I have made are Tru-Stone or Ebonite. I think M-3 would look great as well, haven't done one in wood yet but will when I find the right piece of timber. I am thinking simple elegance.

At the risk of creating yet another firestorm, I have used Constant's laser inlays (Skull and Crossbones) on a Liberty Pen and Pencil set. (I did substitute red crushed stone for the black eyes and nose though.)

All those would work as long as you didn't try and overpower the kit with the blank. Don't forget Cebloplast as some nice material!

Here is a shot of a matched pair with the Granite Pebble acrylic. Pretty close approximation to the black granite cebloplast if you're looking for something higher end.

That's cool. I am going to do one set. I really like those. Can you get them both out of one blank for liberty's?
My first guess is that the Liberty Barrels are very close to the same length as Sierra's, in which case you can probably get two from one 5 inch blank. The instructions don't include the tube length but I have seen the tubes.

You should be able to. The finished length is right around 2.18 inches after being dressed. So if you cut right at 2 1/2 and drill very carefully you should be good to go.

I believe I reverse painted those black.
