For those of you that were thinking about portable cooling options, Woot.com has a Sharp CV10CTXB 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner for $250 with $5 shipping. This is their deal of the day for today only. Unfortunately it is a single hose type but the price is right.

That is a good deal, but since my shop isn't insulated in any way and has corrugated sides where the corners are open or have a lot of air flow, don't think I would accomplish much other than increase my electric bill and make FLEC that much richer. I run two box fans and just sweat.

I just bought a complete 3 ton heat pump split system off Craigslist this past weekend. Should do quite well in my 24x36 garage/shop, if I can get it installed for a reasonable price. I don't have the walls covered inside yet but the metal roof and the three overhead doors are insulated. I'm hoping the brick veneer will provide some wall insulation until I can get around to insulating inside and putting up some kind of inside wall covering.
