Nice. Close to 10 years since we were last on Bonaire.

Where are you staying? (and have you scheduled your Town Pier night dive yet?)

I used to be a diver for the State of Maine. I did underwater bridge inspections. Can't remember the last time I dove recreationally. Enjoy the deep blue!

Roger, that's awesome! I bet the bridge inspector's were busy after the flood of '87. I remember the water up over the three bridges in Fairfield (and Fort Halifax heading down the Kennebec).

Yeah, I wasn't diving for the state then, but it was a hectic time. I never dove on those bridges in Fairfield, although I know exactly which ones you mean. If memory serves, the closest bridges to you that I dove on were for the I-95 overpass in Waterville. Middle of the summer in a Viking dry suit, walking down the highway and then the steep banks. Could've sworn I heard a sizzle when I hit the water!

It is amazing to see a reef in this side of the globe in such great shape, they really make an effort to take care of it and it shows. I was in Grand Cayman in May and it was very good but I think Bonaire is slightly better, and cheaper.

Was there about 20 years ago - awesome shore dives. Saw my first and only sea horse (in 430 dives).

I'm currently in Grand Cayman, rain just stopped, sun back out, time to find that school of Blue Tangs! A snorkel day.

We are staying at the Divi Resort, not 5 stars but it has the basics and you can dive right off the resorts pier.

Used to be called Divi Flamingo? I think we've stayed there twice, one visit was the time we did our Advanced Open Water certification (with Pepe, not sure if he's still a DM).

I don't remember the name of the house reef, but there's nothing bad about any of the sites on Bonaire!

Enjoy
