After making a few chrome Mach III razors made by Berea, I believe, (and purchased from Exotics) people were asking if they could get one in gold. After a little research the only one I found is a TN Gold one from Penn State. Does anyone know if Berea plans on making a gold razor? Has anyone made the one from Penn State? I am curious how durable the finish is. I have made TN Gold pens from Penn State that have held up well, so I am assuming the razor will too, just not sure. Thanks,

Bill

Berea already makes gold, gold TN, black satin, and Blk TI.
I don't know all vendors that carry these but berea hardwoods and bear tooth woods do fo sure.

I would go for the gold TN. I had plating issues with the regular gold.

Here is the Ti Gold Berea kit that I bought from Bear Tooth, like doing business with Ernie.
I used a ladies Venus blade on this one.

In a "shaving environment", you will have daily doses of water and soap and, in some cases, drying with a towel.

I have had several discussions with "shaving parts makers" in Europe who simply quip, "There have been razors made for decades! Why, do you suppose, you rarely see gold?" (In fact, THEIR quote is you NEVER see gold, but I try not to say "never".)

They believe it will show scratches at the least.

But what about TiN?:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

You are exactly correct, Ed. The regular gold Berea razors get damaged even before they are sold.

So far, I've had very good luck with the Gold TN. But I had so many problems with the regular gold that stopped selling them.

That COULD be a great solution!! I am perfectly willing to handle any product that people WANT as long as THEY are perfectly willing not to complain to ME, if it has "downsides":biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
