This is a Gold Fancy Summit Pen from Rockler. Body is Purple Heart with a pierced Gold upper sleeve. I turned the top blank slightly undersize so I could rotate the sleeve under the clip in order to bring up a different pattern under the clip. Look at the two upright photos to see the results. Finished in 8 coats of Thick CA, sanded to 1200, and polished with One-Step plastic polish. Jim S

Beautiful Pen Jim.
My first view of a Gold Fancy Summit Pen.
I like it a lot, looks great.
Nicely matched with the Purple Heart blank.
Terrific Fit and Finish.
Congratulations,
Brian.

Beautiful pen, the purpleheart is a great pairing with the gold. Great fit and finish. I'm going to have to take a closer look at that kit,.

I normally don't care that much for gold finish but you just changed my mind. That looks great with the purple heart. Very nice.

I thank all of you for your comments !! I chose Purple Heart for this kit because of it's color and straight grain. The straight grain doesn't draw the eye away from the pierced top, and the pierced top is open enough to allow the Purple Heart to show through without loosing any grain effect. I would think this pen would also look good if you used Blood Wood. Purpe, Red, and Gold are very rich and regal colors. Jim S
