We have decided to take a trip to Phillidelphia in a couple of weeks. Anyone in the area want to offer advice on where to and where not to go. Any sight seeing things I need to see. We are staying at the University of Penn. Hilton so my son can do a campus visit.

Any advice ya'll can pass along will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil

The duck boat tour is pretty cool. If you love steak goto fogo de chao. Its an awesome Brazilian steak house. Little pricey at $50.00 a person but its all you can eat. I think its worth it!

Geno's in south Philly, or Pat's 2 blocks away. Philly steaks, grilled onions, cheese sauce, steak sandwiches. Be prepared to get messy!

Be sure to stop at the "Center for Art in Wood". Call in advance and see if you can arrange a tour. They have fantastic exhibits. Our local wood turners club is going down there on Saturday, June 16th.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned PSI's showroom store yet. It's a 30-40 minute ride from University city, but worth the trip, if you're gonna be here for a few days. You can put hands on components and finished items, as well as seeing blanks and thing with your own eyes.

preciate the responses.

Looking forward to trying a few local foods.(CheeseSteak) and anything else I can find that looks and smells good

keep the ideas coming

According to the show on tv parking wars, you may want to watch where you park so you dont end up paying all that money,if its a legatimate show

We will be arriving in a few days. I have always wanted to go to the Mutter Museum. My son wants to visit Edgar allan Poe's residence and maybe the Eastern State Pennitentary.

Is the 4th street delicatessan really worth eating at for a good pastrami sandwich? If not then where?

My wife and I had a great day in Philly with Phil and family (it made better sense to meet Phil in Philly vs him meeting Jon in, well, a John)... wandered the Eastern State Pen ... where else would pen turners meet?...and saw the Liberty Bell. As you probably know from his posts, Phil's a real nice guy and even has the family to prove it! Good time had by all and well worth the trip!

Jon is correct. A couple of pen turners met at the pen in Penn. it turns out he is a pretty nice guy himself. We tried to decide if we could get some wood from the Liberty bell to turn. In the end there were to many uniformed officers watching. Jon ended up sending me home with a gift(so who is the nice guy). Plus he shared a few cool ideas. Glad to have made a couple of new friends.
