I really hate to gloat--------That's a lie, I love to gloat!!
Sunday I got a new Bandsaw (Ryobi BS1001).
Yesterday A guy at work told me about some penturning supplies for sale. I live in a tiny town (800 people) and we have one custom cabinet shop. When I went to see him yesterday I hit the mother load. He had briefly made pens about two years ago and then quit. He made mostly slimlines.
I got a nearly new grizzly variable speed 12" lathe with drill chuck and two pen mandrels. He had a new, unused set of Robert Sorby micro turning chisels. 40 gold slimline kits, 20 gold slimline
pencils, 15 letter opener kits,20 keychain kits and a few assorted other kits. I got over a hundred pounds of wood including: 200 cedar half blanks, 60 oak half blanks, a double arm load of 24" X 9/16 square pieces in purpleheart, tulipwood, bocote, zebra and maple burl. And many sq ft of brazilian cherry, mahogony and teak.
All for $250.
