Working at the Gallery n Gifts as a person selling wood products has a distinct advantage - other people working there give me wood. It has happened numerous times. This piece at first gave me pause with so much wild grain going in all directions. Now I like it. It took work since there were numerous voids and termite eaten sections, but it made this pen. It took two rounds of CA application to get it completely smooth and glossy.

Thanks to TonyL I polished it far more than typical and with a new 10X loop I cannot detect and lateral or radial scratches, just shine. I'll order new buffs and those two other compounds soon too.

Let me know what you think of the wood, I know it is not for everyone.

What I love about this pen so much is one half has the burl, with the other half with straighter grain. The dark strip going between those sections makes it really pop. Excellent execution!

Magnificent Pen Mark,
You Certainly won with the gift of that Apricot Burl, regardless of what restorative work you had to do. It is Stunning.
Great Work with the Turning, Restoration, and Finish. Truly Beautiful and Masterful!
I would see if he had anymore, but then again I am Greedy.
Congratulations, my friend.
Brian.
