Gift of a cigar

Had some maple logs with nice curl and colour dropped off in the carport the other day. This is the first pen made from them. It will be a gift to he who gave me the logs. Maple on a black ti. cigar with CA/BLO finish.

Yes I try to make one out of matching material for any pen I can. Slims, Barons, cigars etc.

Thanks. I wasted some when I cut it as I usually cut to just over an inch square, microwave dry it and then recut to 3/4 inch. Looks like I got about 20 with this kind of figure from the logs and another 20 half blanks with good figure and another 20 or so where the figure may not be as nice. Then again you never know until it is turned and polished.
