Getting those brass tubes clean

I have been buying bore cleaner sets from Big 5 and they have worked ok. They are fairly soft and for a rifle barrel that might be the best idea. For pen tubes I wanted something else. I tried Amazon, found the Tipton brand and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of these brass brushes. They are about the same price and you get three per package. They are ROBUST and should last quite a bit longer. They scour the inside quickly and completely and still look new. My tubes only have a bit of base wax inside, but sometimes epoxy gets where it wants. You might not see it but all of these tubes are bright, shiny brass.

I hope this helps you get cleaner brass tubes.

PS - you can get penturning done five weeks after a quad bypass if you want to and take it easy.

Question

What caliber for what size drill? I use a 22 caliber for 7 mm, but don't know for the other 'normal' size drills we use.

7 mm in firearms is about 0.284. 1/4 inch would work- those few thousandths wouldn't matter. Thought of using brass brushes. Thanks for the tip.

The 25 caliber brush set works very well for 7 mm tubes.
