We are just under a month away. Not much chatter going on-line about it, so I'm now going to try and remedy that. If you are heading over to Champaign, IL on Saturday April 16th, here's what you should bring;
1) Pen or pens for the troops
2) Pen for swapping
3) Pen blanks for swapping
4) Your best pen or pens for competition
5) Something else you turn for an instant gallery
6) For the more local guys, some treats or donuts to share for snack breaks (big request coming from a gluten free guy, but I just won't look in the kitchen)
7) Lots of cash for some incredible deals at the vendor tables
8) A few bucks for 50/50 and guess the number of blanks with all money going to the Union Hall
9) Your interest in watching some great demos
and the best thing to bring
10) Bring a friend along to share in a really great day.

For number 8, I'm going to roll up a bunch of blanks and wrap with plastic wrap. For $2, you guess the number of blanks in the ball. The first correct answer, or nearest guess, gets the ball-o-blanks. It'll be a great deal for someone!

Let's pass the word! When we get about 2 weeks away, I'm going to try a get an idea of who's coming. Or you can let me know and keep this post rolling. Thanks everyone!

I (low_48) will be there with domestic wood pen blanks and bowl blanks. Alice Call (elody21) will have Corian blanks and larger Corian pieces, Gerry Wilhite (Chasper) may set up selling some kits, Pat from Ankrom Exotics (stabilized wood and wood/resin combo), TRG carbide tools and tool rests, and just heard from Ken Ferrell (bitshird) about a booth to sell his Woodchuck pen pro and other carbide insert tools.
So as you see, it will be a fun shopping day with at least the 7 or 8 vendors. I still need to contact CU Woodshop Supply (Rockler associate store from Champaign) that was there last year.

If you're "planning" your spending---Exotics WILL be equipped to take credit and debit cards. We will have a selection of pen kits, Masterscroller blanks, our imported blanks and other blanks (who knows what we will locate by then). We plan on a special on Berea sierras in chrome and some other kits.

This is the preliminary plan--feel free to PM Dawn or me if you would like us to bring anything---with 4000 items, we will be selective, but you are welcome to help us select!!!

See you there!!

Looks like we are back in from Michigan. Wife's surgery has been postponed. Count Buzzzz4 and RichB in. We also have gluten free in our house, so I may be able to hook you up on that.

Well, one week from today, we will be travelling to Urbana, with some "stuff" for the MPG attendees to enjoy. Question is, WHICH stuff??

Any suggestions on specific things you would like?? We have arranged for a few hundred RhinoPlastic Blanks, which we will be offering for a "package price".

We intend to bring some of our partners' blanks. But, the "storehouse" would never fit in a booth, so what would you like us to prioritize???

Suggest here, or PM Dawn or me---whatever--just give us some direction, please!!!

Hi Ed and Dawn,

I will be particularly interested in refill upgrades and fountain pen ink and supplies. Otherwise look forward to seeing any of your products. Se you in a week. You know you could just pick me up on the way by, gas prices are getting way out of hand:biggrin:.

Carl

Thanks for the suggestions!! Refills are easy!!--light,

Pen blanks---not so light!!!

But we will load the car and trailer and see how much
STUFF we can carry along--After two "taxing" weeks (ending on April 15), meeting everyone will sure be a nice break!!!

Looking forward-----

Ed & Dawn

A little birdie also told me you have lots of great Powell blanks hanging around.

Yep, I have been saving a few just for this meeting! CaptG sent me some Geared Carbon Fiber blanks to bring (and a Geared pen!!), I have some blanks from JohnU, and some of the Laphroiag and Churchill Port blanks from Jon Ramsey (you won't have any trouble finding our table with these out!!) and much more!

And, I will bring a few of my new PR colors as well...but Eric, only if you bring some of yours too! And if you happen to still have it, I would love to see that PR segmented pen you did!!!

Dawn, Will you have any pheasant feathers from JohnU? I'm sure we'll be talkin' a plenty, but if you are bringing any for Wall Street II, save two for me.

Thanks, Rich

Sounds great with all the goodies. I will bring along what I have, many have sold. The segmented beauty is in a gift shop on the other side of the state so unfortunately I don't have it anymore, but I'll bring a bit of a portfolio with me as it's fun to see what others have. Looking forward to meeting you!

I'll bring along a few dozen homecast blanks to show around as well!
cant wait to see everyone, im really looking forward to it, this time I get to drive up all by my lonesome
No pesky mother to tll me how bored she is, hehe

My apologies for the late notice but due to a recent business trip and some serious complications with my Daughter's pregnancy I haven't had time to prepare enough product to justify the expense of the trip. I will certainly try to make it next year and I hope this years event is your best yet.

I heard there will be some great door prizes or raffles of nice useful tools as well, my thanks to Ed for taking two woodchuck Pen pros to the gathering.
Andrew and I were looking forward to it, but his Mother who is in pretty poor health is having a procedure done Friday. and my mommy won't let me stray that far from home with out adult supervision. Have a GREAT time and perhaps things will be better for us next year.

I am going to try my best to go there. Its only 5hrs 1 way. I so want to meet some of you guys. I will bring the wife. I figure if I leave Columbus, OH around 6am I should get there around 10am due to time zone change, unless Central is two hours behind. Either way we can stay till around 2pm. I am talking to the wife about it now.

We for sure are going. Can't wait to meet many of you that I have either done business with a lot, or seen on here quite often.

Rich, I spoke with Boomer earlier this evening. Due to some health issues in the family he will be unable to attend. He sends his regrets.

Well I was going to head on down this weekend but gas prices shot up and killed my plans. Instead I guess I'll be laying some new bathroom tile down.
I was curious if anyone video records the presentations?
