Getting fancy

Picked up a new attachment for the rose engine the other day (a pearling tool), and had to try scratching some plastic. This is my first try...a poly resin cabochon measuring about 2.2" across. This is the kind of tool that has been used to embellish the backs of pocket watches and jewelry for the past couple of centuries...aka: "Guilloche"

What is this??? That would be very useful to use on some plugs!!! Not to sound really dumb, whats a rose engine?

Pretty slick machine. For as much as it costs though it will take hundreds of pens to make up the ROI. Wish I could have one though. lol
