finally bit the bullet, got the 46-460.

it's a world apart from the rockler's excelsior. but than again it's double the price.

I felt really bad getting it dirty, almost didn't want to shave wood right away. but the superquiet motor was really asking for it.
I think I need to find a new excuse for my work's mediocrity...

Congratulations, Alex. Delta is definitely one of the top-of-the-line models. It was an older version of the same unit that I learned off of. My mentor swears by Delta equipment, and his lathe was no different. I will be looking forward to seeing your creations from this machine.
