Gem-thing(y)?

How do some of you folks remove/replace the gem stone in certain kits, such as the art deco http://www.pennstateind.com/store/PKARTASET.html

IF you have an electric soldiering gun try laying the tip on the stone for a couple of minutes and see if it doesnt destroy the glue holding it in. If the stone is crimped in you will have to break it out.

Dave, I tend to use acrylics & alt materials that don't require a finish other than sanding. If you use wood it's easier to do a CA finish with the lathe off. I use a skew for turning them and a trick I learned is to put a taper on the backside so it will sit in the clip without wanting to flip over.
