We buried my Mother Dec. 23, Just got back from Georgia from the funeral of my Aunt. She was 13 months older than Mom.. I think she died from a broken heart, she and Mom was best friends close as two peas in a pod. She attended Mom's service and was so sad but in good health to be 91. She was found dead on new years morning when she didn't come to lunch at the assisted living facility.. I'm back home now and now don't have any aunts or uncles left... So sad..

I'm sorry for your losses... and I know the sadness you feel... My uncle, Dad's youngest brother passed a couple of years back... I'm now the oldest male in my family on my father's side and second oldest on my mother's - her younger brother is still kicking, but he's into his 80's and not in good health.

It is always sad when you lose someone close to you, but to lose 2 people so close together, is heartbreaking.

When my Mother died some years ago, a friend gave me this poem to read when I was feeling sad. I have included it below for you so you can read it in times when your Mother & Aunt are in your mind.

You can shed tears that she is gone 'Anon'

"You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she's gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on."

I have mine framed and it is above my computer desk.

Thinking of you in your time of grief.

Dave

Hello David

Forgive me I am just catching up on a few posts here and happen upon this one.. I would like to pass on my condolences to you and your family. Losing 2 very dear people in your life so close to each other is very stressful. May they both rest in peace.
