Hello all!
My name is Tyler and I'm from Pflugerville (a city just north of Austin). I got into turning in high school woodshop. With my first job I bought a Jet 1014. I turned about 30 pens during the summer before heading away to college and my Jet went into storage. After graduation I lived in apartments and kept my Jet stored. Fast forward 12 years and I'm married with a house.
So for the past 3 months I have been working on getting my garage into shape. I have my lathe up and have turned about 40 pens in the last three months. Slowly I'm building my tool, blank, and pen kit collection up. It adds up quick. But it's good to know that I didn't forget what I earned and that I can still turn a decent pen. I still have a lot to learn including the elusive CA finish. I've tried that multiple times and have yet to have it work. I have picked up a lot from this forum and look forward to learning more from the members of the group.
