I was turning a blank for a euro, when the tip end shattered... a couple of large chunks came off, too bad I didn't get a pic of the damage, but it was pretty bad. I glued the two largest pieces back on the main part, and finished turning the cap. Later, I put the glued part back on the lathe, and turned it... very carefully.
The very tip end still had divots, so I though to myself "Self, you built a comfort pen this morning, and didn't use the grip". Sooo... I cut 1 inch off to the tube, and, VOILA! Frankenpen.
It wasn't really worth setting up the light tent, lol. You can see what's left of the glued part. I'll get another kit and identical blank, and turn a new tip section sometime.
