Greg, I have made a few fountain pens but they were for a customer who collects them, other people look but do not purchase. This may be simply not knowing too much about them or feeling intimidated by the difference. Cross style and rollerballs still sell the best for me.

Greg,
There was a really informative thread on this topic last week, or two weeks ago. If you do a search in this forum using "fountain pen", I think you'll find it. It had quite a few responses (I think at least 2 pages), and included a discussion of different nibs and things as well.

I've found that those that want a fountain pen, only want a fountain pen and usually are willing to wait for it to be made as well. the only ones i've sold directly from my display where to people Buying a gift for someone else. the person buying for themsleves never want what is ready made. they want a "Custom" made job. usually very specific with there taste and desire. Nice folks to deal with. they usually know what they want.
