Fountain Pen

I have just started turning fountain rollerball pens. Only thing I dislike is when writing with the pens. The end of the pen goes in and is difficult to write sometimes. Any comments on how to improve it from going in and give a more sturdy end.

This is also what I do if the refill acts a fit spongy. Stretching the spring firms up the refill.

I'm not sure why there would be a spring in this assembly - the rollerball tip is threaded into the body of the pen assembly. A spring would do nothing. However, if you were using a standard rollerball refill (not a fountain rollerball by my understanding) a spring would be needed, but that is not how I read the original question from @Suskmorrison.

Typically I use a Schmidt tip - no springs and as above, threaded into the section. Takes either a cartridge or convertor.

I guess I personally would not use the word Fountain in the description for this. To me that is a cartridge or converter fill rollerball pen.

There is a guy that makes an adapter to use these in either a Bock #6 or Jowo #6 section and they are fantastic! I have used several of them to convert one of my custom (no kit) fountain pens to a custom rollerball. It just uses my standard section made for a #6 Jowo.
