Amazon does not own or control "amzn.to" links. Those links DO NOT go directly to Amazon, they go to Bit.ly for expansion:

HERE IS A DIRECT AMAZON LINK. CLICK ON THIS LINK INSTEAD. It goes directly to Amazon, and does not have any identifying or affiliate information in it:
https://www.amazon.com/Rikon-Four-Piece-Turning-Carbide-Inserts/dp/B078XLQ3TM

The problem with Bit.ly, amzn.to, and similar shortcut links is that most people do not know what they do or where they go. It is very easy to hide links to malicious hacker websites in them, and few people know. It is also possible to hide long Amazon "affiliate links" - if you buy, the person who posted the link gets some money. I do not know if that is the case here.

Here is what the Bit.ly (amzn.to) link in Steven Davis' original post actually translates to, including identifying, tracking, and affiliate information, all hidden by the shortened amzn.to (Bit.ly) link. To make it easier for you to see the entire link text, I removed the "https://www.amazon.com" in the front:
