I made this for her 12th birthday. The box and knob are figured Walnut, the lid is fiddleback Cherry. Width is about 3 1/2" with a total height of just over 2".

I find this too beautiful to be a toy. But anything for grandpop's little girl, right? She'll have lots of fun time with it, for sure.

Claude, I agree that it is too nice to be a toy. I considered using lesser woods, but I think I have maybe $4 invested in the wood. I told her it was for the top of her dresser to keep special things in. But now I guess I'll have to make 5 more for my other granddaughters! :eek:

But you should have seen her eyes light up when I gave it to her today. Made it all worth it! :wink:
