For a new Trooper

My son's friend just graduated from the New York State Trooper Academy, so I put together a pen for her.
The kit is a liberty click from McKenzie Penworks. The blank is Italian olive wood with a gray and purple band (colors of the Trooper uniform) made with 18 layers of cardstock.
It was really tough to get a good picture of the band with my lighting, the second photo has been enhanced to show the colors. The finish is CA.
I really like this kit, first one i've tried, very well made. I purchased some of the DiamondCast blanks also and an looking forward to turning them.

Nice pen and blank. Just hope he doesn't use it to write a citation for you.
A SC state trooper had a pin on his dash (stopped me since I wasn't paying attention to the speed limit): Had a pig on the pin and the inscription, Pride- Integrity- Guts.

Like Lee said, I love the olive wood. It has some character. Nice looking pen all around.
