Two P-40 Warhawks dive on a pair of A6M Zeros, either in 1940 China or (soon) in my 4 year old's bedroom.

Pardon the poor picture and weight machine, the mobile is in the staging area for Christmas day..

Bubingia, maple, brass rod and 30lb test. Finished in tung oil.

The planes have ~6 inch wingspans.

I was really sweating getting this done in time, as i have been fighting vertigo all week keeping me well out of my workshop.

That is SOOOO COOL!!! I'm a giant fan of art that teaches... Not only is a cool mobile, but there is a history lesson buried in there.

The mobile was a hit!
We will hang it up tomorrow.

My son wanted to just hold it up and watch it move around the draft made by the heater.

It was a fun, and not so complex project. In a few years I will make one for my younger son (only 9months now). Thinking P-51 or P-47s and FW-190s or BF 109s.
