I turned a stabilized green dyed elder burl blank and now that I am close to final shaping I noticed that there is a small undyed spot, about .5 mm in diameter right in the middle. Since the rest of the blank is very homogeneously dyed, this little spot sticks out to my eye. It's not a void, so my attempts to fill it with CA/green sanding dust failed. I also tried extracting some of the green dye using isopropanol mixed with the sanding dust, but the blank doesn't take it up, presumably because the stabilizing resin is impermeable. Should I try using a tiny drill bit to drill out the spot and then fill with CA/dust or just live with it?
