First time with Spalted Curly Maple

This is the first time I've turned spalted curly maple. Put a ca finish on it. It's heading out as a retirement gift for an detective.

Wow, that's a nice piece of wood! I just cut up a bunch of it last week and hope a few of them turn out this nice.
