I got some grapevines from a local vineyard some time back. I just got a stabilization kit so the grapevine was my first attempt at the stabilization process. The stabilization worked out well I think.
Anyway, the images below show the wood turned for a Slimline pencil kit from PSI. It was the only kit I had hanging around and this is just an experiment so I put them together. Didn't turn out too badly. Finished with CA.
Anyway, I learned a lot about the stabilization process and that yeah, I kinda like the grapevine look and it opens another small path to getting into the local wineries around here. And sorry about the image quality, I don't have a photo setup/process yet, just shooting on a towel outside. And the crack at the center band in first image is all filled in and smooth.
