I got sierra kits when Texatdurango ran a group buy and they've sat and sat.
I finally turned some bushings and made a couple. This is the first:
Chrome Sierra dressed in one of Rodney's two-tone Desert Ironwood burl blanks.
I had to drill near the very edge to keep it two-toned as nearly all of this piece
was sapwood.
Using the new Norseman drill bits I got when Tom ran that group buy, I had
no problem running 1/16" from the edge although I did hold my breath
.
The pen is finished with MM/CA and polished with Novus, which I got from Mike and Linda,
for a final glow.
The point being thanks to all of you who make this place a community.

The sierra is simple to make, yet it's got a good look and balance.
I'd like it better if the nib wasn't prepressed and the black section could be
replaced with my own turning. I'll probably waste a kit to see what can be done.
All comments and criticisms welcome.
