Hi all

Finally made myself a table saw sled so that I could have a go at a segmented pen. Not an original design but really fun to do and I learnt lots doing it. Hopefully the first of many.

It's made of purpleheart, jarrah, mahogany and ash - the woods I had to hand, the purpleheart was once a piece of the decking on Brighton pier.

I'd rather it was a fountain pen but it's for my son's birthday and he doesn't like fountain pens!

Thanks for the kind words.

Can I say it took days to make?? Well, it did as many other things got in the way. The blank that I took the slices from took a couple of days to glue up but then the slicing, sanding and gluing up of the top and bottom barrels and turning took an afternoon. The next one might be quicker!

Cheers

Nice wood selection. The colors work well with each other. Your son will love it, and his friends will all want one so keep that sled warmed up.
