I'm a new pen turner and received some blanks from Mark Mayo. Thank you Mark; the blank for this pen was one of those that you sent. I've taken an interest in segmenting, so here's a photo of my first go at it. As you can see, it's basic straight cuts with pick guard inlay. The pen kit is a Dura Click EDC Slimline. The finish is CA glue. It's been a neat process, starting with the building of a sled for my table saw in order to preserve my fingers. I'm pleased with the outcome; I think it's a start on my journey into segmenting. This forum has been an enormous source of information for me.

Excellent first effort. Welcome to the dark side
It always starts with a simple segment, then more complex ones, then ones that you will need more tools to do (and then a few more to really 'get it right'). You have embarked on a journey to which there is no end!
