Got my oil pencils that I had on order and also got some satin lacquer to apply after coloring.
Here was my first attempt with using those oil pencils. They are quite nice to work with. Didn't do much blending at all on this one but that will come with time and practice.
Before just burned and then after with coloring added.

Nice. What is an oil pencil. I have watercolor pencils but dont think I have heard of oil.
And now I am confused. Is this woodburning?

Wow, that's really good! FYI, the second pic doesn't come up, but copying the URL and pasting into the browser does fine...

Sorry about that. I edited the original post and hopefully it shows now.

The colored "lead" in them is oil based rather that water based. Works better on wood and water ones are usually used on paper as far as I have been able to gather.

Sorry for the late response and thanks to all for the kind replies.
I was out of town for three days and just now got home.
