With deployments, and making chief, among other family dramas, I've not had time to make anything for myself in the last year or so. So I got a wild hair, and decided to try something I've never done before. Here is my first knife made from scratch. The blade is from an old file, it's a skandi grind (scary sharp) and the handle is whitetail deer antler from one of my early bucks a few years back. With the heat treating and tempering, this edge should hold for a good long while! I'm making the sheath right now.

A good looking knife. Do be careful and not let your hand slip. That blade looks way sharp.

I really like items made from scratch. Very nice. I look forward to seeing the sheath...
