Hello everyone.
I haven't posted since my knee problem. I had several medical issues after that incident and the two surgeries to fix my knee. I can't believe all of the medication I have to take now and that's after I was able to stop taking some of it.
I haven't been making any pens because my insurance doesn't fully cover the costs of the medications so I have to pay what isn't covered.
After all of the problems I've been having and the cost of it all, I really haven't even felt like doing much at all. It's very depressing and it doesn't seem like it will get better.

Enough about that.
I hope everyone is doing good.

Thoughts and prayers with you.

Have been chasing joint issues so have some understanding of what you are wrestling with.

We should start a club! Hate not being able.....

How much more therapy do you have?
Any idea when you're supposed to be 'functioning' again?

Scott (I hate meds....ugh) B

I had knee surgery in Oct after a injury in August. It just takes time. I had ACL replaced both meniscus repaired and a ruptured MCL. I am just now beginning to do ok.. Do what the surgeon says and try to push yourself to get well.. Good luck.

I'm doing therapy, but I'm not gaining any strength. I'm able to get around and I was told to do as much walking as I can stand to do, but the weather hasn't been cooperative. I do rounds at the mall as often as I can, but it just doesn't seem to be getting better.

I had another doctor appointment today. I got discouraging news.
He has been telling me to do as much walking as I can and keep my knee moving. It has remained a little swollen and really sore but I did laps around the mall and my physical therapy as he recommended.
Today he said he doesn't understand why there hasn't been any improvement with the pain or mobility and it should be regaining strength by now even if minimal.
He now wants me to stay off of it and back my therapy down. He mentioned a possible third surgery if this doesn't improve anything. I really don't know if I can go through that again.
I think I might look for another opinion to see if there are other options.
I wish I would have never went outside that day it happened. I could have stayed inside and kept warm but I was excited to finish the pen I had started. It just sits on a shelf waiting for it's day if it ever comes.

I have a bad knee issue. The more they want you to work it the worse it will get. All that movement aggravates the area. All this technology and they can't
fix a knee? They fix pro ball players who rip up knees all the time and they're back next season. I don't get it. My goodness, how bad is it? I do feel for your situation and wish you some relief. Hang in there best you can.

After checking around, I don't think it will be any better than it is at least not without complete knee replacement and it isn't guaranteed. I guess the pro athletes have the money to make anything happen but insurance companies won't put out that kind of money.
I really don't want to go through another surgery either.
It has constant pain and is worse when putting weight on it. Since resting it, it has gotten very stiff and stays swollen most of the time. The medications don't seem to help but I'm not going to stop taking them for fear of how bad it might be without them. My tolerance is wearing down and I'm not sure what to do.

Pain management specialist? I have had my knee replaced, as have others, and you should consider it if it is recommended by a doctor. Are you not insured?

Knee replacement is my second phase. Knee replacements are pretty common in Alaska grey haired circles, with near 100% being satisfied with the outcome. The tough old timers do both the same time.

The Doc has been talking just one, but need to get it done before other medical issues arise. Have a good friend who put it off too long and became too high risk.

Thoughts and prayers your way.
