I've been laid up with a herniated disc since mid June but was able to get back to the shop this week and turned out this Celtic knot. The wood is stabilized canary wood.
The Celtic knot are shown here often, so just following the tutorials will get you a similar look. The real difficulty is envisioning something that hasn't been done before.Great job. I am amazed with the way segmenters can visualize the end result when working with a square blank.
In this case I used two different materials. For the knot I used pick guard material apparently no longer carried by exotic blanks. Since I ran out of that material, I used black and white veneer which I glued together to form the other highlights. If you look closely at the second picture you can detect the wood grain, especially on the white! It is not easily visible without the magnification available in a photo.Wow, that's really nice! I have a beginner question - what is the material used to make the knot? Is it acrylic segmenting sheets?
