I haven't made any pens for a while but my sister asked me to make some for her kids and friends. I got back to the lathe and really enjoyed it.
I've got an Afzilia Xylay on a Sierra Vista Black Titanium and Gold kit and the other is Caragana on a Wall Street II click

Beautiful example of why caragana is my favourite turning wood .
It's always been one of mine too. Occasionally it is boring but most often there is some very interesting character in it. We didn't have a lot of wood types around me in northern Montana when I started out on the pen-turning journey. Caragana around the homestead, willows and cottonwoods were about all that grew so that's what I made.
