I've just watched my very first live ice hockey game!!:biggrin:
I'm in Zurich Switzerland and with an American colleague ( from New Jersey) and he talked me into going to the game at the local stadium
I can't remember who the teams were but apparently the home team had one ex NHL member and some French/Canadian guy that were supposed to be pretty hot.

Although the game was good, I think the most memorable part will be the loss of an arm and a leg for the crappy burger and beer I had!!!!:eek:

LOL, I think I'll stick to rugby:biggrin:

I love hockey, but I played it from age 4 through college. I think once you play it you enjoy watching it more.
 
Hockey was a way of life for me growing up. Played AAA rep hockey all the way through which meant LOTS of traveling, not to mention a ton of money for my parents to fork over. But at that level the parents get pretty involved and I can remember more fights in the stands than on the ice....lol. I was scouted to the Western Hockey League and if it weren't for injuries who knows what might have happened with my hockey "career".
 
I know the feeling, Skip. I went to watch a fight once and a hockey game broke out. Those "popcicles" never miss an opportunity to play hockey.
 
Ice hockey, ball hockey, they say that the ball doesn't hurt but you catch one in the ribs without pads then we'll talk, and the most played of all, road hockey. All together now, CAR.:biggrin: Grab the ball/puck, goals, and sticks and run for the sidewalk. Play will begin as soon as the car passes the person with the puck and may start before the goal is set up. Never played on an organized team but started as soon as I could use the stick to hold me up until I was 19. Couldn't skate that well so I was the goalie. Good times.

Lol...you nailed that right on the head. We did the same thing.. In the winter time we played in the neighbors backyard, his dad was a fireman, so they would bring in the fire truck and spray the whole yard. AND...the yard was on a hill! :biggrin: Nothing like that stuff bothered us back then...cars coming buy, or ice with grass in it, no matter.
 
Huge Hockey fan, havent watched a game in 4 years! Took my husband to see his first Hockey game and am still surprised he married me after all the cursing and yelling I did :)
