I turned this from a mulberry crotch the finish is Howard's orange oil wood restorer. It is 4.5 inches tall, 5.5 inches at the widest and 3.5 inches at the base and the hole is 1.5 inches wide. Wall thickness is approx. 3/16ths.
I saved a small section of bark that flows from the hole to the edge and it is bordered by the sap wood.
I am thinking of making a lid and turning it into a pet urn.

Very nicely done William!
With the knots and cracks, I'm sure you had to be careful with it. That piece has grain going in all directions and the grain is like eye candy!

Edit...the second and third pic show the chatoyance in the piece. These will look great when the sunlight hits it!
