First Fountain Pen Maple Burl Executive Magnetic

I'm liking this kit more and rethinking my first impression. It's a good value and maybe another entry into the low cost fountain pen for fountain pen newbies. Which includes me. Should I put the ink in and give it a try?

That looks very nice. CA finish? What kind of wood is it? Writing with a fountain pen is a different experience. I've loved them since I was a kid in school.

It is maple burl (but with no bark inclusions) from penkitmall. Yes it is a CA finish. First time doing only thin.

Thanks for mentioning this pen kit. . I was not aware that there is now a fountain pen version. . And the magnetic cap is interesting.

Incidentally, in a google search I came across another US company called "Crooked Mill" which sells pen kits and they have a fountain pen kit which they call the "Executive" also, but it is quite different from the PSI Executive which you show. . Here is a link if anyone is interested:

Gotta agree with Philip on the background. Wood on wood is never good for people who are color blind. I'm sure it's a beautiful pen though.
