After 45 years of working, today is my first day of retirement.
My first job was part-time when I was 15 years old, working as a bellhop for the long-gone Prince Charles Motor Inn in Penticton, BC., where I earned $.75 per hour plus tips.
For the past 19 years, I've worked for a great little company in the 'fire weather' business, called Forest Technology Systems. I've traveled extensively throughout north america, although mostly in the eastern US.
Thanks to an incredibly generous retirement travel voucher from FTS, my considerably better half and I will be taking at least two vacations to somewhere warm, later this winter or next spring.
I guess I'll have no excuse for being late with my fall PITH pen....!
