Great idea. You have done well. I only thing I would change is bury the cb or remove the center band and glue the blank thread into your base. Otherwise you did a great job.

Very nice, Though I do agree with Alan the center band might look better a little more subdued. Maybe take off the gold and black rings. Just curious what makes the end look so much darker?

Thanks for all the replys. I did indeed remove the center band and the other rings, now the top of the base is flat and looks a lot better!
