I stayed a way from this kit as I thought the cap and post ends were made from plastic like the El Grande. The parts are metal, though and I like it. I will do more! The Desert Ironwood is from A.S. I used the chrome bands from the El grande as I used the bands from the Churchill elsewhere.

Nice work, Glenn. You used the El Grande clip as well, didn't you? As a personal thing, I like the retro look the Churchill clip gives the pen, but this works well, sort of a "Grande Churchill" so to speak.

Looks nice, although I have to say I'm not a fan of the rollerball nib on this kit. I like the kit, but only as a fountain pen.

I like Brian's version also, but you should be aware he made some changes from the standard Churchill kit. Look at the pictures (of course) on whichever website you order from to see the unmodified version. BTW, Ernie at http://beartoothwoods.com also carries the Churchill kits and other Berea kits.

FWIW,
