First capped pen I have turned and it is also the first fountain pen. The blank is amboyna burl. I had a few problems with the wood. When I was squaring the end I tore a chunk out of one of the corners. It came off in two pieces and I was able to glue it back together. Then when I was just about finished turning it to the final shape I had a big chunk come out of the opposite end. It took a few minutes to find the piece but it was all one piece and I was able to glue it back together. All in all I am pleased with the pen. The tenon shoulder isn't quite straight, not horrible but not perfect. My parting tool is 1/4" thick and the tenon is only 1/8". So it was a little tough to cut. Thanks for looking.
