With all the different kinds of woodworking I have done over the years I had never tried installing barrel hinges on anything until now.
Got a little shop time in this afternoon and made this box while referring to Carole Rothmans book on the subject.
Her pages on installing those hinges was quite helpful. I know I would have had quite a time doing it without her instructions

Bill, did you cut felt to fit the top and bottom of the box? you might want to try flocking. It goes on very easily and if you keep the adhesive lines clean you won't get a jagged edge.
You can get it from Lee Valley. Not sure about anywhere else

I have had the flocking kit from LV for about ten years. Found it messy to work with but might try again.

It is a little messy but the results are pretty good. I never had much success fitting felt
