Well, despite my fears after reading a lot of the posts here, and being an absolute butcher when I try to use an HSS skew, I decided on a whim to give inlace acrylester a try.
Now, I don't know if it's because it was full of shredded cash so that made it less chippy, or the Magical Skew that I just received from Bob at T.Shadow really is magic, but it wasn't bad to turn at all. Rhino blanks give me more fits than this did!
I back-painted it green, turned it at 3,800 RPM, wet sanded from 220-600 and then hit it with Tripoli and White Diamond on the buffing wheel. It sold from my personal facebook post before I even got it listed on my business page!
I think I'll be turning a lot more acrylester in the future!
