I`m not a carver but I have always thought that idea would make a great pen...............................You proved me right. Great job.

Btw if you join us for the Southeast mtg. at Woodcraft bring it along.

Great looking pen. I always wanted to give that a try, but wanted a denser wood than Bass. How is it to turn? The wood spirit came out fantastic.

Hey Cris Bass turnes like butter. That pen is a little longer than a normal pen but alot lighter.

I picked up a 1x1 at a carving show last January. My 10 yr old daughter wanted to learn to carve. We didn't get to far on the spirt face unfortunately. She's always right there when I turn though. Now you given me some ideas on mixing the 2. Gotta sell the idea to her.

That turned out nice. I just had a cousin give me a large log of basswood and didnt know what to do with it. Nice idea. Now, only if I could carve. lol

It was great seeing this pen in person. The carving part of this pen is only one of the special aspects of the overall pen.

Great job, and thanks for bringing it to the Chapter meeting.
